Arrinera Automotive S.A., is a Polish supercar manufacturer based in Warsaw. The company was established in 2008 by brothers Łukasz and Marek Tomkiewicz. In 2011 it announced its first proof-of-concept supercar, using a mid-engine, rear-drive layout. Their second prototype was presented in 2012, initially named the Venocara, later renamed as the Hussarya.
Arrinera developed a race variant of the car to GT3 racing specifications, the Hussarya GT. It was first shown at the Autosport International automotive show in Birmingham, UK, in January 2016. In June of the same year, the Hussarya GT, running in the supercar class, became the first Polish car to take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The first prototype built as a proof-of-concept vehicle in order to assess development strategies for future cars. A decision taken to proceed with a mid-engined rear-drive layout and a bespoke chassis.
The second prototype used to validate the mid-engine concept and the basic package of the car, as well as a preliminary aerodynamics approach. A proffesional race car was born which debuted publicly at the Autosport show in Birmingham in January 2016. In June of the same year we were invited to participate in the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed where the Arrinera Hussarya GT, running in the Supercar class, was the first Polish car to ever take part in the event.
The Arrinera Hussarya GT is a racing car compliant with FIA GT3 rules. It powered by a General Motors LS7 V8 engine, as used in the Chevrolet Corvette, pushing out 500bhp. with a six-speedsequential racing gearbox operated by paddle shifters. It features a modular steel spaceframe chassis, pushrod suspension, 380mm brake discs, ABS and traction control. The car’s body designed by Pavlo Burkatskyy with aerodynamics by Janusz Piechna of Warsaw University of Technology, and the mechanicals engineered by Krzysztof Stelmaszczuk. It the first supercar designed and engineered in Poland. It named after Poland’s Hussar cavalry. The prototype of Arrinera premiered on 9 June 2011 to shareholders and investors. Some journalists gave the supercar the name “Venocara”, although Arrinera Automotive company has never used this name for its supercar. It featured scissor doors for both the concept car and the production car. In August 2012 Arrinera Automotive officially announced the name of its supercar as Hussarya. The name derived from Poland’s Hussar cavalry of the 16th century.
