The 2018 Lexus LC is the most gorgeous car to ever appear from the Japanese luxury brand’s design center – and it’s also the first time Lexus has made a full-size sports coupe available in the United States since the more modest SC introduced in the 1990s. Inspired by your choice of V8 (5.0-liters, 471 horsepower) or hybrid (V6 + electric motors) power, the LC 500 and LC 500h are two distinctly different takes on the same grand touring concept.
The Lexus LC 500h maintains the CVT concept, but marries it to a four-speed automatic gearbox, allowing the two to operate in tandem and offer both better fuel efficiency than one would expect from a grand touring, as well as the kind of pulse-quickening acceleration and paddle shifting that has become a standard feature of cars in its class. This is aided and assisted by a control system that allots 10 total ratios split between the two discreet gearboxes, matching the 10 that are available in the V8 version of the LC.
With a long 2,870 mm wheelbase, compact 920 mm front and 970 mm rear overhangs and a notably low hood, LC’s athletic profile is set off by a sweeping roofline, sensual curves, and wind-cutting silhouette.
LC’s cabin is designed for driving pleasure and luxurious comfort. The cockpit is an invitation to high-spirited driving. Passengers relax in an environment that combines stylishness and sophistication. The Lexus is globally reputed for just one of many reflections of the Takumi craftsmanship.
The safety system included Pre-collision Safety System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam.
LC introduces the first application of Lexus Enform, a multi-media package that combines connectivity, infotainment, convenience and next-level peace-of-mind in one simple to use system, as its wealth of technological advances.
With 471 horsepower and a 4.4-second 0-to-60 time, the most powerful Lexus V8 ever built is also one of the most powerful naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engines in the world.
A first in the luxury segment, the all-new 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission delivers rapid-fire shift times with lightning-quick intelligence.
