How to polish my Car: A resplendent shiny car, adds more than high gloss. It perks up your life, your persona. After all much of you, your impact gets measured by your car type and vehicle hygiene. Hence it is an essentiality to know about ‘how to polish my car to a high gloss’.
Adding Zing
Polishing the car is not just about its exterior or its looks, it also proverbially extends its life too. It adds an extra zing to the exterior.
Basic Process
The polish as a process at the very basic removes the bonded contaminations and eases out the paint and even subsurface defects. Though the polish could and would happen with the hand and a rough piece of cloth, or a scouring medium. It would also be sensible to use the polishing wheel for the purpose.
Washing the Car
As a first step, the washing of the car in a shade or a garage could happen. Spray water over the entire car surface prodding out the sticky stubborn contaminations. Using soap water and automotive soap like in personal bating, hard caressing with a sponge would clean up the surface. Starting from the top at the roof the water is run down along with all its dirt and debris.
Polishing
Matching of the polish pad and compound to the color type works. Dark/black-colored cars need fragile handling; While the light color, the vehicle surface can withstand much.
The polishing pad needs to be soaked and damp but not dripping wet either. The pad with a lathered compound and one would apply it with the polishing wheel. At an angular dash, the wheel and the pad skim the car surface. The compound getting laid and polished at the same time./The swirl and smear of the compound getting rubbed to its all shiny. Some extra care in holding the pad and running the wheel is needed at the trim edges though. A small blunder here could burn the clear paint itself and one needs to be careful. And beware as you do the edges.
And at last, once done, you must wash and dry the polish pad and keep it aside with the polishing wheel for use in the next car polishing.
For the vehicle in operation, however, after the polishing, a light spray wash is again done so that the residual leftovers of the compound and the settled dust and dirt if any gets washed off. The surface then being towel dried with to and fro swaying movements of the arm, starting from the top to the sides to take care of any left out wet spots.
Waxing
Polishing brings out the shine; It also exposes the car paint. Waxing thus is the natural next sequel step here. But automotive wax is applied with care using the given wax pad to win the pack. On application however the wax having drying tendency, needs that the vehicle is kept in shade. Also, the guidance is that the application is done in circular movements. Now once the wax dries, which it would be very quickly especially in summers, a microfiber cloth patch should be used to clean it, and as the cloth feels heavier on drag, it is flipped and then used from the other side.
Thus with simple technique but applied with sophistication, the high shine for the car can be glowed. And be of relish both for the owner as well as the onlookers as your resplendent persona zips pass the highways or the uptown high streets.
