Mazda Demio third-generation (DE-series) belongs to the subcompact/supermini class. the alphabet “B” represents the “(small cars, city cars)” market segment. The car was offered with 5-door hatchback body shapes between the years 2007 and 2014. A major change (“facelift”) during a model run occurred in 2010 (Mazda2), 2011 (Mazda Demio). Cars were equipped with range of engines of 1298 – 1498cc (79.6 – 91.5 cui) displacement, delivering 62 – 83 kW (84 – 113 PS, 83 – 111 hp) of power. Third Generation Mazda Demio
The third-generation Mazda Demio is built on the new DE platform, which Ford also used for the 2008 Ford Fiesta. It employs lightweight materials and reduces the overall dimensions of the car. This generation dropped the mini MPV high-roof styling adopted by its predecessor, instead opting for a more conventional hatchback look. The lead designer for the fourth-generation Mazda2 (or fourth-generation Mazda Demio) was Ikuo Maeda, who was later promoted to Head of Design at Mazda cars from Japan in 2009.

The Mazda2 launched at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, and later at the 2007 Shanghai International Motor Show. For the Japanese domestic market, sales of the production vehicles began on 5 July 2007 at Mazda.
The third generation of Mazda Demio introduced in July 2007. The Mazda Motors company focused more of its attention on the exterior appearance of the third generation model than it did with its predecessors. It was given a wedge-shaped and sportier look overall. Size-wise, Mazda Motors reduced the length and height but increased the width for a wider and more spacious interior.

The exterior of the third generation Demio is indeed a happy sight for sore eyes. It has well-rounded and sleek curves that run straight from the slanted bonnet to the oval rear. This is a small five-door, five-seater hatchback. However, it is also available in a sporty three-door version.

The third-generation Mazda Demio is impressive on the interior, with well-designed and stylish plastic molding. Available cabin storage in Mazda Demio includes a cup holder, glove compartment, door pockets, and more. All the instruments nicely positioned behind the wheel and the seats are sufficiently comfortable.

Like the second-generation Mazda Demio model, the driver and front passenger may create more legroom by adjusting their seats, but tall backseat passengers may be a little cramped. Also, there is enough boot space for a few small suitcases and other luggage which can be increased by folding down the split 2nd-row seats.

The sportier third-generation Mazda Demio designed to handle speed without consuming a lot of fuel. It comes in different engine displacement sizes. The 1348cc, 16-valve engine known for fast acceleration. This responsive engine has been rated at a fuel consumption of 23.0 km/L. If you are an adventurous driver, you may prefer the 1498 cc engine, which is built for performance and delivers approximately 19.4 km/L.
The third-generation Mazda Demio hatchback comes in five grades. The Mazda Demio 13C has a 1.3-liter engine, five-speed manual gearbox, or four-speed automatic gearbox. 13 SKYACTIV has a 1.3-liter engine and has been built with SKYACTIV technology for fuel efficiency. The 13C-V has 15-inch alloy rims, a 1.3-liter engine, and a keyless entry.
Furthermore, Mazda Demio 15C has a 1.5-liter engine, keyless entry, and 15-inch alloys, and Mazda Demio 15S has been designed as the sports edition of the Mazda Demio with 16-inch alloy wheels, 1.5-liter engine, body kit, fog lights, paddle shifts, and keyless entry. Some of these grades are not found in the second generation.
