Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz EQC

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz EQC: The Suzuki Vitara is a range of SUVs manufactured by Suzuki in four generations since 1988. The second and third-generation models were identified as the Suzuki Grand Vitara, with the fourth and current range avoiding the “Grand” prefix. In Japan and various other markets, all generations have utilized the signature Suzuki Escudo.

The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a fully-electric compact luxury SUV, production started in 2019 by Mercedes-Benz. It is the first member of the fully electric Mercedes EQ family, a series that will grow to cover 10 new models by 2022. While the EQC will run predominantly in front-wheel-drive mode, the rear electric motor is commanded to assist when additional performance is required by flooring the accelerator.

Let’s start the comparison of the Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz EQC and find out what these Vehicles have to offer as well as where they compete with each other in various aspects you are going to find below.

Overview of Suzuki Escudo

Suzuki Escudo was first launched in the Japanese domestic market in July 1988. The title obtained from the “escudo“, the commercial section of Portugal before the approval of the Euro. North American Sidekick became available for the model year 1989 as a two-door convertible or hardtop. Fuel-injected 80 hp (60 kW) 1.6-liter, eight-valve, four-cylinder Suzuki G16 engine was available on the XJ and JLX. 1990 caused the deletion of the upscale JLX variant. A carburetted variant without a catalytic converter was available for some markets; this model delivers 75 PS (55 kW) at 5250 rpm.

Overview of Mercedes-Benz EQC

A developing number of carmakers attempt electrified transport, and Mercedes-Benz had prepared to join the fight with the EQC before drawing the plug on its electric SUV in early 2021. Mercedes-Benz was accurate to state that the EQC could be entered into the U.S. in the future, but for the time’s presence, it will live an alternative only in abroad markets. The EQC would have been a compact SUV that allowed seating for five. Its completely electric powertrain would have given calm performance, along with the short expedition that’s a portion of the package with many luxury EVs. Its cabin seemed suitably grand, with high-gloss substitutes, charming textiles, and contemporary design. Overall, the EQC’s combination of Mercedes-Benz opulence and eco-friendly electrification would have given it a beautiful pick for green-minded luxury SUV shoppers.

This is the most advanced model in the Suzuki Escudo family that had a revamped exterior as well as the interior. While at the same time, it has a number of technological advancement keeping in pace with the modern world. The model has five slotted grilles and, at the same time, has a chrome finish for better look and feel.

Another exclusive feature of this model is advanced safety Technologies that help the drivers to escape accidents at all costs. This feature was not available in any of the previous models. This model has the best technological incorporation like character recognition software, front-facing camera and recognition, and many more for a smooth and comfortable ride!

If you take into consideration the space and practicality of these vehicles. However, the Suzuki Escudo is a less spacious model with enough space and cabin room for 5 people at once.

Interior space is a little settled when matched to competitors and the EQC’s significant weight catches away from the driving experience. Still, the super-quick, straight-line speed surely put a smile on your face, and the available electric field is large enough for us to suggest the vehicle.

The cabin seems a bit more common than some of the race and is only separated from other Mercs by some further vents, copper weights, and a long, extensive panel of wires going from the bars and about the back of the dashboard.

Furthermore:

Quality is typically Mercedes, but it isn’t the roomiest vehicle in this section – and some of the plastic elements on the show won’t affect brand experts. The middle console is truly fat and feeds into the front footwells while lying in the back shows headroom is at a premium, nibbled away by the EQC’s aerodynamically friendly low roofline.

From the driver’s seat, clarity could be more reliable, too. The rear window is thin and raked, and the side windows aren’t the greatest either. Boot space sizes up at 500 liters – not the highest in the division, but enough for most family requirements.

Suzuki released the five-door Escudo in the year 1991 after much consultation and consideration. It was not only bigger but also better than the original model. It was way more spacious, had better boot space, and even had a more voluminous petrol tank for better performance.

Other amazing features included in this car were coil spring suspension as well as a sturdy frame. The developments made this car absolutely perfect for long drives even on cross-country routes with friends and family because this car was way more secure and comfortable for not only the driver but also the rest of the passengers.

The new design style places the tone for EQ vehicles to grow but look small and it matches the GLC – and for great design. The EQC utilizes an extremely revised variant of that car’s common platform rather than something fresh and different. So while the Tesla Model X and the Jaguar I-Pace have been developed completely from scratch, the EQC mirrors the Audi e-Tron, by striving to be a completely reliable, upmarket, long-range electric SUV underpinned by a recognized measure.

Moreover:

Alternatively of creating a custom EV platform, Mercedes has based the EQC on the design practice on the current GLC model. It’s Audi e-Tron opponent also gives members with its Q5 and Q7 siblings, but other rivals such as the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X have been created from the ground up on new platforms, which provides the versatility to maximize interior space and hold the overall weight down.

Notwithstanding measuring in at almost two-and-a-half tonnes, the EQC is fitted of 0-62mph in 5.1 seconds and also owns a required range of up to 252 miles on a single entry.

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz EQC: Engine

Engine of Suzuki Escudo

In 2005, Suzuki released the third-generation model of Escudo. This had a wholly new and sporty design. And was totally different from its former models, making it a new journey to undertake altogether. It has full-time 4WD and suspension that was way more dependable.

Which makes it the perfect car for long drives keeping comfort at its peak. Previous engines were made use of while the fuel consumption was also impressive. The fourth generation of Suzuki Escudo was developed in 2018.

Engine of Mercedes-Benz EQC

The EQC would have joined two electric engines with a lithium-ion battery. A one-speed direct-drive transmission was applied to power all four wheels. This powertrain would have produced a complete output of 402 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque. We never had the opportunity to examine the EQC, but Mercedes-Benz concluded that it would have performed the race from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. That would have put it behind its chief competitor in this section, the Tesla Model X. Tesla commands a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.4 seconds for the Long Range model and 2.7 seconds for the high-performance variant with Ludicrous mode involved.
