Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class

We are going to discuss and compare the two (Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class) beautiful as well as luxuries SUVs. Firstly, the Suzuki Escudo is a luxury SUV. Secondly, the GLE-Class is a sport utility vehicle (SUV), developed and manufactured by the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz.

So, without wasting any more time, let’s start Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class: Luxury SUV.

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class: Introduction

Suzuki Escudo was first launched in the Japanese domestic market in July 1988. The title obtained from the “escudo“, the commercial section of Portugal before the approval of the Euro. North American Sidekick became available for the model year 1989 as a two-door convertible or hardtop. Fuel-injected 80 hp (60 kW) 1.6-liter, eight-valve, four-cylinder Suzuki G16 engine was available on the XJ and JLX. 1990 caused the deletion of the upscale JLX variant. A carburetted variant without a catalytic converter was available for some markets; this model delivers 75 PS (55 kW) at 5250 rpm.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE-class weds a lavish lodge and a strong powertrain in a roughly attractive bundle. It’s the latest in a long line of luxurious off-roaders from Mercedes-Benz that started back in the late 1990s with the introduction of the M-class. This new GLE also a huge improvement compared with the version it replaces. That’s not to say it’s perfect.

In its quest to out-tech key rivals such as the BMW X5, Lincoln Aviator, and Volvo XC90, Mercedes has overlooked a few important details, namely interior ergonomics and ride comfort. While a slope-roofed “coupe” model surely joins the lineup soon, the GLE-class offered only with a quarterback SUV body at the moment.

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class: Exterior

Suzuki released the five-door Escudo in the year 1991 after much consultation and consideration. It was not only bigger but also better than the original model. It was way more spacious, had better boot space, and even had a more voluminous petrol tank for better performance.

Other amazing features included in this car were coil spring suspension as well as a sturdy frame. The developments made this car absolutely perfect for long drives even on cross-country routes with friends and family because this car was way more secure and comfortable for not only the driver but also the rest of the passengers.

The Mercedes GLE-Class looks smart with its dynamic frontal styling, the sloping body-color C-pillar that has now become a GLE trademark, and horizontal taillights that follow the latest Mercedes fashion. To most eyes and ours, it’s an elegant and good-looking SUV Cars.

The Mercedes GLE 350 and Mercedes GLE 450 models ride on twin 5-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels, while the Mercedes GLE 580 gets 20-inch AMG twin five-spoke wheels. Models with 19-inch wheels can be upgraded to 20 or 21 inches at extra cost, although some of the AMG wheel options require that you specify the AMG Line Exterior Package and/or Night Package.

Some of the 22-inch wheel options require the AirMatic suspension and are, as a result, not available on the Mercedes GLE 350, which does not offer this option. LED daytime running lights and all-LED headlights and rear lights are standard on all models, as are roof rails and a powered tilting/sliding sunroof.

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class: Interior

This is the most advanced model in the Suzuki Escudo family that had a revamped exterior as well as the interior. While at the same time, it has a number of technological advancement keeping in pace with the modern world. The model has five slotted grilles and, at the same time, has a chrome finish for better look and feel.

Another exclusive feature of this model is advanced safety Technologies that help the drivers to escape accidents at all costs. This feature was not available in any of the previous models. This model has the best technological incorporation like character recognition software, front-facing camera and recognition, and many more for a smooth and comfortable ride!

If you take into consideration the space and practicality of these vehicles. However, the Suzuki Escudo is a less spacious model with enough space and cabin room for 5 people at once.

Fine materials such as genuine leather, woods, and metals impart a sense of true luxury, but they also add a pretty penny to the bottom line. Not only can the front seats be heated, but the armrests and center console lid can, too, quickly take the chill out of a frigid winter morning.

The spacious interior can now be outfitted with an optional third row of seats and features modern Mercedes technology found in the company’s latest luxury sedans. With the optional third row of seats stowed, we fit 11 carry-on suitcases in the cargo hold. With all seats folded to their flat positions. The GLE-class offers room for up to 26 carry-ons. The GLE-class’s rival, the X5, matches the Mercedes in both metrics. But other competitors such as the more coupe-like Audi Q8 held far fewer.

Suzuki Escudo vs Mercedes-Benz GlE-Class: Engine

In 2005, Suzuki released the third-generation model of Escudo. This had a wholly new and sporty design. And was totally different from its former models, making it a new journey to undertake altogether. It has full-time 4WD and suspension that was way more dependable.

Which makes it the perfect car for long drives keeping comfort at its peak. Previous engines were made use of while the fuel consumption was also impressive. The fourth generation of Suzuki Escudo was developed in 2018.

Models wearing the GLE350 badge powered by a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine with either rear- or all-wheel drive (4Matic in Mercedes parlance) or nine-speed automatic transmission. Stepping up to the GLE450 brings standard all-wheel drive and a 362-hp hybrid powertrain that consists of a turbocharged inline-six and a novel 48-volt electrical system. The 2020 GLE350 required 6.6 seconds to reach 60 mph at our test track, and the six-cylinder GLE450 managed a 5.3-second time.

While the souped-up Mercedes-AMG GLE53 (reviewed separately) brings even more heat. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE580 represents the most powerful and expensive non-AMG model. The 48-volt system combines with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 to make up to 504 horsepower. Every GLE-class can be outfitted with a cutting-edge air-suspension system that can lean into corners. And even wiggle itself loose if the driver gets it stuck in sand or mud. The standard setup is traditional steel springs and anti-roll bars.
