What Is Tempered Glass?

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass that helps with heat or chemicals. These heat or chemicals used to strengthen the glass. The whole process refers to as tempering. Tempered glass is four times stronger than typical annealed glass of the same size and thickness.

Other benefits of tempered glass:

  1. More tensile strength (it can bend easier without breaking).
  2. Wind resistance.
  3. If it breaks, tempered glass shatters into rounded cubes rather than pointy shards.

Laminated vs Tempered Glass Uses

  1. As far as security is concerned, you must go for laminated glass. For commercial glass purposes, laminated glass is preferable. It is difficult to break laminated glass due to extra layers of vinyl, or plastic between the panes creating a barrier.it keeps business safe from intruders and harsh weather.
  2. If the interior glass is concerned, you should prefer tempered glass. Tempered glass is better for inside your home. It is useful for tub and shower doors. It is easy to clean and is way cheaper.
  3. Laminated and tempered glass is useful for auto applications.
