Toyota IST vs Volkswagen UP: The Toyota Ist (stylized as ist) is a subcompact car produced by the Japanese carmaker Toyota. It is transported to the United States as the Scion xA and Scion xD, the Middle East as the Toyota xA and to Europe and Latin America as the Toyota Urban Cruiser for the second generation.

The Volkswagen Up (stylized as Volkswagen up!) is a city car, member of the Volkswagen Group New Small Family (NSF) range of models, revealed at the 2011 International Motor Show Germany (IAA). Production of the Up began in December 2011 at the Volkswagen Plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Dimensionally, the vehicle is 3679 mm long, 1631 mm wide, and 1540 mm tall, and the wheelbase measures 2560 mm. A selection of a five- or six-speed manual or five-speed auto is available depending on the variant, with the E-Up solely utilizing an electric motor to produce drive. Booting off the field is a 60hp 1.0-liter offering 95Nm of torque and able of accelerating from 0-62mph in 14.4 seconds. The top speed is a commanded 101mph.

For those after more performance, the 75hp variant has the identical level of torque but the additional 15hp begins its 0-62mph time down to 13.2 seconds, with a top speed number of 106mph.

Engine
